MICHAEL KLEIN
Michael S. Klein has over 30 years of business experience. For most of that time Mike has served as Chief Executive Officer with several successful startup companies as well as Division President and General Manager in several large publicly traded companies. As part of Mike's startup company experience he has served as CEO of Sonacare Medical, a novel ultrasound based therapy urology company as well as the CEO for two other sought after medical technology companies in the focused energy and diagnostic imaging arena. His first startup company, R2 Technology, was acquired by Hologic Medical (HOLX) for $300M. His second company, Xoft was also acquired by a publicly traded company, iCAD and is now a primary revenue driver for that business.
Previous public company experience includes serving as General Manager for Varian Medical Systems (VAR), now a greater than $1 Billion oncology business. In this role, Mike introduced the novel concept of Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT). During his tenure, Mike increased company revenues by over 50% while simultaneously increasing operating income and market share. Mike also ran the Sales and Marketing opertions for Becton Dickinson Corporation's (BDX) hypodermic needle and syringe business. This $500M Commercialization business was expanded to include catheters, surgical products and anesthesiology and radiological supplies. Mike has also served as President of a Division of Roper Industries (ROP), a $16B publicly traded company, where he ran Civco’s Radiation Therapy Business.
Prior to his operational roles, Mike served as Senior Director of Training and Development for SCM Corporation which included assignments at constituent divisions such as Proctor Silex, Glidden Paint and Durkee Foods.
